Not Hard Goodbye

You start the engine

And my heart sinks low

Finally the plates get smaller

And go

My bedroom sheets still smell with your cologne

But my pain blends well

With the unknown

Your cup, lost book , one sock

All rest in peace

In that one last box

I wrap pink ribbon over this award

Sender unknown

Never return

Picture frame stands proud

And empty

Memories and pain in the flames

Smoke softly

Carries the remains

He’s at my door

I can smell her perfume

His voice

The lies

Jump so out of tune

With heart

I see you

And I even smile

I whisper in my mind:

The biggest step I ever took

Was one I took back

From you

My sheets are crispy fresh

Solace sleeps in my bed

My heart blends well

With my happy end ..
